DC Marriage Law Closer to Reality as Court Rejects Opponents' Injunction Request

clock February 27, 2010 13:32 by author Hector Torres, VP Capital Hotels

DC Marriage Law Closer to Reality as Court Rejects Opponents’ Injunction RequestCongratulations to our District of Columbia community leaders, our City Council Members (in particular Councilmember David Catania), Lawmakers and D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics for the foresight and conviction to support keeping our Nation’s Capital a beacon of global human rights by upholding equal rights under the law and paving the way to permit same sex couples to marry. The legislation was overwhelmingly passed by the elected Council and signed by the Mayor in December.  This legislation allows Washington D.C. to join the great capitals of our hemisphere such as Ottawa and Mexico City as leaders in common for respect and appreciation for Human Rights.
