Beacon Bar &
Grill's 3rd Annual
Best Martini in DC Contest
The
Beacon Bar and Grill is 3rd Annual “Best Martini in DC Contest” and
has again invited the finest local bartenders in town to
participate, for the sheer fun of it. A pot of $1,500 will be
shared amongst the winners, where, $750 goes to the first place
winner, $500 for second place and $250 for third place.

Tuesday March 30, 2010
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Bartenders from some of the most popular restaurants and bars all
over the city have signed up to present their finest Martini
creation in this test of mixology prowess. Each bartender will
present only one creation for judgment.
The
Winners will be selected by a local Celebrity Judges panel that will
include:
David Catania - DC Council Member; Lynne Breaux,
President, Restaurant Association
Metropolitan Washington; Tom Crotteau, National
Beverage Distributing; Sean Bugg, Co-Publisher of Metro
Weekly; Jennifer Currie, Publisher, On Tap Magazine,
Amy Austin, Publisher, Washington City Paper and David
Del Russo, General Manager, Embassy Suites DC Convention
Center.
While
the “Celebrity” Guest Judges’ Vote will carry 50% of the tally,
public participation will be invited to count and will help in
selecting a winner.
Participating Bartenders
are still signing up for this event.
Audience Participants may reserve their Judging spots for $15 which
will include complimentary
hors
d'oeuvres
from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a tasting of all the featured Martinis.
“The
competition promises to be very heated with the most creative
martinis served in town, where else will one have the opportunity to
taste the creations of up to 10 Bartenders vying for the grand
prize” Comments Kamran Vakili, General Manger of the Beacon Bar &
Grill. “Pride and a good prize make it worth-while for
participating Bartenders to produce the finest product in order to
make this an experience for those who love indulging in Martinis.
This is a fitting event in view of the popularity our own Martini
Sky-Bar enjoys, during season primarily due to the creativity of our
resident bartender” continues Kamran.
